Privacy notice

Last revised: 9 October 2026. This notice explains how MP3Raid handles information when you read articles or contact the editorial desk. You can read the publication without providing your name or email address. The public site accepts contact-form messages. Newsletter address collection remains disabled.

Who to contact

MP3Raid is operated by the domain owner and its editorial desk. Our public editorial and privacy contact is [email protected]. Identify a question about your information as a privacy enquiry so we can direct it appropriately.

Information you choose to provide

Email enquiries

If you email the editorial desk, your email service and ours process the sender address, message and any attachments as part of delivery. The editorial desk uses the information you send to handle your enquiry. Please include only details relevant to the question. Do not send a password, payment information or unrelated sensitive personal details. Direct email enquiries are separate from the website contact form.

Website contact form

The contact form collects your name, reply email address and message. It stores the submission in the private editorial inbox and sends a notification with those details to the operator's designated editorial mailbox. Replies can be sent to the email address you provide. The form uses a session cookie, request token and submission interval to help prevent forged or repeated requests. Messages are not published, sold or added to a newsletter list. If email cannot be queued, the site tells you and retains the message for the editor to review. Local preview submissions stay in the local test database and do not send email.

Newsletter interest

Newsletter signups are disabled on the public site; the contact form is enabled. A newsletter is a planned feature, and the signup area links to our RSS feed instead. Before collecting addresses or activating delivery, we will identify the delivery provider, update this notice, set retention and removal procedures and provide an effective unsubscribe method. Reading our RSS feed does not register your email address with MP3Raid.

Cookies and browser storage

The site uses a session cookie for the private editor login and request security. It helps verify that an editor submission belongs to the session that requested the form. Blocking this cookie may prevent the editor login from working. Closing or clearing your browser session removes the session cookie, subject to your browser settings. The cookie is sent securely over HTTPS and is not an advertising identifier.

Your light or dark appearance preference is stored in your browser's local storage as an appearance preference. This preference is read by the site to display your chosen appearance. It is not an advertising identifier. Clearing site data in your browser removes the preference and session information; it does not remove a message already stored on the server.

Visit counter

Public pages load the operator's visit-counter script from Burkul. The script briefly creates and removes a testCookie to check whether cookies work. After a successful counter request, it sets a crs_MP3RAID_COM cookie for one day to distinguish a returning browser. This is an analytics cookie, not an editor-login cookie. The counter is disabled in local previews, private editor pages and signed-in article previews.

The counter request sends the current page URL, referring page URL, screen and browser-window dimensions, and whether the visit cookie exists. The receiving server also receives ordinary connection information, including an IP address and browser headers. Current page URLs may include the search query you enter. The counter helps the operator measure visits. Clearing or blocking this cookie changes how repeat visits are recognised; blocking the counter request prevents the visit from being recorded. The browser cookie expires after one day, but this does not specify how long the receiving server retains its logs. Contact the privacy address above about counter records or retention.

Security and operational information

The editor login records a hash derived from the connecting IP address, the failed-attempt count and the attempt time to limit repeated login attempts. Website hosting may also generate access and error logs containing connection details, requested URLs and timestamps.

Access to messages, signup records and the content panel is limited by the editor login. Stored submissions are not published in article pages or supplied to other readers. These measures reduce exposure; they are not a promise that any system is immune to unauthorised access.

How information is used and retained

Email contact details are used to handle the enquiry you submitted. Session information supports the website and its security, while the appearance preference supports your display choice. The current build does not sell reader contact information or use it for targeted advertising.

Newsletter collection remains disabled. Contact-form messages are retained in the private editorial inbox and may also appear in the editorial mailbox and backups while the desk handles and keeps a record of the enquiry. No automatic deletion period is currently configured. You can request correction or removal using the privacy contact above. Email enquiries may remain in the editorial mailbox and its backups while the desk handles and keeps a record of the correspondence. You can ask about correction or removal at the address above. Operational logs and backups are managed by the website operator; this notice does not promise a fixed deletion period that has not been configured.

External links and service providers

Articles link to manufacturers, artists, documentation and other publications. Visiting a linked website means interacting with that website under its own privacy practices. External images are stored locally for the articles rather than automatically loading a third-party tracking image on every page view.

The public site uses the operator's dedicated hosting server and Cloudflare for DNS and delivery protection. Requests can pass through Cloudflare, which receives connection information such as the IP address, requested URL and browser headers to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for its account of data handling.

Editorial staff may use outside tools to research or check article drafts, including AI-assisted writing tools. Reader contact messages and subscriber lists are not submitted to those tools as part of that editorial process. The Burkul visit counter described above is enabled on public pages. Any additional email, analytics or advertising provider will require a separate review of what it receives and how this notice must change.

Advertising and Google services

No Google AdSense ads or Google Analytics scripts are enabled in the current build. If Google advertising is added, Google and its partners may use cookies or other technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted and consented to. Before activation, we will disclose the actual providers and data uses and implement the consent choices required for the visitors and advertising configuration concerned.

Google provides further information about data use on partner sites and controls through My Ad Center. These links explain Google's services; they do not mean this website currently uses them. Non-essential advertising technology must not be activated merely because an explanatory paragraph has been added to a notice.

Your choices and requests

You can read articles without submitting a contact message or newsletter address. You can clear the site's cookies and appearance storage through your browser settings. To ask about a record you submitted, or request correction or removal, contact us with enough information to locate it. We may need to verify that the request relates to your information before acting.

When making a request, include the email address used for your submission and the approximate date. Please avoid sending unrelated sensitive information. The editorial desk will explain any additional information needed to locate or verify the record.
