FKA twigs will curate Meltdown at London's Southbank Centre from June 10 to 20, 2027. The organiser's festival page confirms the 32nd edition and says the line-up and details of her headline show will follow in spring. The announcement gives a festival window; it doesn't yet give a date for her individual performance.

Alongside that London news, Southbank Centre and Music Venue Trust have announced Hometown Meltdown, six two-day events in grassroots venues. These run from December 2026 to March 2027 and have their own hosts. They aren't six regional stops on an announced FKA twigs tour.

What does the London announcement let you plan?

June 10 through June 20 covers 11 days, counting both ends. Southbank Centre describes dozens of concerts and two weekends of free activities. That gives you the overall span, but not the programme you would need to choose a particular concert night.

Our advice is to keep that distinction in any travel plan. A free activity, a festival concert and twigs' headline show are separate things to identify when the programme arrives. The current page doesn't establish that one booking admits you to all of them. Nor should a curator announcement be read as a promise that the curator appears at every event.

For now, note the festival window and follow the organiser's updates. Wait for the named event, venue, performance date and booking terms before treating a trip as confirmed.

Who is hosting the Hometown dates?

The separate Hometown announcement pairs each host with a specific venue:

  • Kelly Lee Owens: Neuadd Ogwen, Bethesda, December 12–13, 2026.
  • Stewart Lee: The Cornish Bank, Falmouth, January 30–31, 2027.
  • Kathryn Joseph: Beat Generator, Dundee, February 13–14.
  • Jamie Cullum: Chinnerys, Southend, February 23–24.
  • Pauline Black: Peggy's Skylight, Nottingham, March 2–3.
  • Rhoda Dakar: FORGE Warehouse, Sheffield, March 25–26.

Six events lasting two days each make 12 regional programme-days, distributed across four months. That's a different scale and calendar from London's continuous 11-day festival. The shared idea is artist-led programming; the hosts and locations change.

Southbank Centre says the local programmes will bring area artists together with established and emerging performers from elsewhere. That describes the project, rather than confirming every performer. Check each venue's eventual line-up before assuming the host list is the full bill.
