Foreign Tongues is getting a companion release on November 27. The Rolling Stones’ Loose Lips collects five recordings from the period around the album, with two physical packages listed by their official UK store.

Here’s the detail to catch before ordering: the red vinyl edition puts Loose Lips on the record and Foreign Tongues on a CD. You don’t get the original album on vinyl in that package. The store’s disc-by-disc description makes the distinction clear.

What is on Loose Lips?

The five recordings are Where There’s A Will, Who You Callin’ Crazy, Human Tide, Bad Luck Hideaway and She Still Comes Around. The store credits Steve Winwood with organ on Where There’s A Will and jazz saxophonist Courtney Pine on Who You Callin’ Crazy.

Polydor Records is releasing the collection. The 2CD listing lists 14 songs on CD1 and the five Loose Lips titles on CD2. That adds up to 19 recordings. CD buyers get the main album and its companion together, with a separate disc for each.

For someone who already owns Foreign Tongues, most of that two-disc set will be familiar material. Compare the five titles with your existing edition before paying for another copy. The size of a deluxe package tells you little about how much music it adds to your own collection.

Does the vinyl contain the whole album?

No. The 12-inch EP has Where There’s A Will and Who You Callin’ Crazy on side A. Human Tide, Bad Luck Hideaway and She Still Comes Around go on side B. The original 14-track album is supplied on a CD in a card wallet.

The vinyl is heavyweight red, with a sleeve using matt and spot-gloss finishes and a die-cut centre hole. Those are packaging details from the store, rather than evidence of a different mix or mastering. For that distinction, see our guide to remasters, remixes and album editions.

Already own Foreign Tongues?

For a vinyl collector, the EP has a clear role: it keeps the five companion songs together on a record, across two sides. The bundled album CD may be a duplicate. A CD listener gets a more straightforward arrangement from the 2CD set, without needing a turntable for Loose Lips.

Availability needs a separate check. On October 16, the UK store’s EP-and-CD listing says that product is available only in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Buyers elsewhere need a store serving their country. Both product pages currently say preorder and give November 27 as the release date; allow for that wait when buying it as a gift.
