Manic Street Preachers released The Holy Bible Live on October 23. Its Roundhouse performance comes from 2014; Steven Wilson's new mixes return to the studio album recorded in 1994. The package combines an archive show with a different presentation of the original album, so start with the contents when choosing an edition.
The band's official release announcement identifies London's Roundhouse and the sold-out 20th anniversary tour as the source of the live performance. This is an archive concert release, rather than a recording of the current tour or a newly written studio album.
1994: the album being revisited
The studio material is the original The Holy Bible, now represented by new mixes from Steven Wilson. A new mix changes the presentation of an existing recording; it does not turn those songs into new compositions.
Already own the studio album? Check whether the attraction is Wilson's mix, the Roundhouse performance or the film. Each is a different reason to revisit the same songs.
Our remix and remaster guide explains the broader terminology. For this release, use the artist's specific description of new mixes rather than silently substituting remaster. We have not compared their sound with an earlier edition.
2014: the performance and film
The announcement says the release features the complete live performance. It also identifies Kieran Evans' Be Pure – Be Vigilant – Behave on Blu-ray. Look for the concert audio and the Evans film separately in the edition description.
A live audio recording lets you follow the performance away from a screen. The film adds a visual document. Neither should be mistaken for a newly filmed 2026 show merely because the physical release is dated this month.
The official announcement does not provide every edition's disc-by-disc contents in its short news text. Its description is a starting point, not a substitute for the product track list.
2026: choose the package by its contents
The official release hub offers separate routes for Deluxe, 2LP Colour and CD/Blu-Ray editions, along with an exclusive Blu-ray listing and a listening link. These are distinct choices, not proof that every format includes every component mentioned in the announcement.
Before buying, check for the live audio, the Evans film and the Wilson studio mixes individually. A CD player and a Blu-ray player serve different discs, so check the playback equipment you need. If one of those components is your main reason for ordering, find it explicitly in the selected product's description rather than relying on the album title alone.
