Deep Purple have postponed their Leipzig and Hamburg concerts after a medical emergency involving Ian Gillan. The band's October 31 statement says the singer was hospitalised and that the team is working to reschedule both shows. Existing tickets will remain valid for the new dates.
There are no replacement dates in the post. Keep your ticket and purchase confirmation while the team works on the new dates. Booking another trip now would mean guessing when the replacement concert will happen.
Leipzig was October 31; Hamburg was November 1
The two affected bookings are:
- October 31, 2026: QI Arena, Leipzig.
- November 1, 2026: Sporthalle, Hamburg.
The statement was published on October 31, when Leipzig was due to take place. Hamburg was the following night's concert. The band's tour page marks Hamburg as postponed at our November 1 check.
If a friend forwards the statement without a date, check the original post before acting. Leipzig was the October 31 booking, even though a screenshot received on November 1 may still refer to tonight. The city on your ticket is a useful starting point.
Before making another booking
Find the purchase confirmation first. Look for the city, date and order reference in the email or purchase account. For a group booking, start with the person who paid: that's the account to check for the seller's message, even if everyone already has an image of their ticket.
When an update arrives, read it alongside the old confirmation. Does it identify your order and give the replacement city, venue and date? Keep both messages. They give the seller a clearer account of the booking than a detached screenshot if you need help.
Can't make the eventual new date? The statement doesn't provide a refund procedure or deadline. Ask the original seller about your order when the replacement details arrive. We haven't verified a refund policy applying to all tickets for these shows.
Check a train ticket or hotel reservation on its own terms too. Nothing in the concert statement changes those separate bookings.
Dortmund and Berlin remain on the itinerary
Dortmund's Westfalenhalle on November 3 and Berlin's Uber Arena on November 4 remain on the official itinerary as of November 1. The October 31 statement gives neither a diagnosis nor a date for Gillan's return. A future entry on a tour page cannot supply that missing medical update.
Check the band and your seller again before travelling to a later show. The same planning principle appears in our concert-ballot guide: wait for the booking detail you need before committing to the trip.
