My Chemical Romance and Lauren Tsai have released Prelude to The End, an animated short credited to Tsai as director and to UNREAL INC. as its production company. The official collaborative YouTube upload premiered on October 30. Allow 7:41 for the complete upload, according to the player.
Looking for the film itself? Open that watch page. The album editions promoted beneath it have their own format and track listings. You can watch the short before deciding whether you want to buy any of the music formats mentioned alongside it.
Follow the film's own credits
The upload pairs My Chemical Romance and Lauren Tsai in both the title and the collaboration-channel label. The band's official website links its YouTube channel, providing a route back to the artist rather than a fan re-upload.
We've linked that original watch page. The 7:41 duration describes the video on that page, including whatever is contained in the upload. It isn't a measure of an album, a concert set or the amount of new music available. Nor does the word prelude establish that another release has a confirmed date.
Tsai's director credit and UNREAL INC.'s production credit come from the upload's description. We use that release information here to identify the work and explain the accompanying music offers; this isn't a review of the film.
Read the edition after the title
The same official description promotes The Black Parade's 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition. It describes the original recording with six previously unreleased bonus tracks and lists vinyl configurations, CD, cassette and digital formats.
For the iTunes download, the description names two exclusive extras: Mama and Cancer, live from Hoboken. If either recording is the attraction for you, look for that live version in the edition you intend to buy. The iTunes wording alone doesn't put it on a CD or vinyl track list.
This is where a format choice becomes a listening choice. A cassette, a CD and a download may carry the same anniversary branding, but the branding isn't a list of recordings. Read the edition name and track list together before paying for a second copy of an album you already own.
Our guide to scores and soundtrack albums makes a related distinction: a screen work and a separately sold audio collection can lead to different listening choices. Here, the straightforward route is to watch the credited short first, then assess the specific record edition on its own contents. The film link doesn't require a physical-format purchase.
