The Back to the Beginning film and soundtrack arrive on December 11, 2026, but the Deluxe box will not ship until April 23, 2027. If you want a physical copy this winter, the edition you preorder matters.
The Mercury Studios release hub points to the official stores. The product descriptions also separate the film from a Deluxe-only bonus disc containing 35 songs. A preorder for one does not buy the contents of the other.
What each box contains
The standard CD + 2 Blu-ray edition pairs a soundtrack CD with the concert film on 4K UHD and HD Blu-ray. The listed film runs 146 minutes. Its description includes the full Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath performances, plus the Jack Black and Fred Durst video performances.
The Deluxe listing adds a bonus HD Blu-ray containing 35 Ozzy and Sabbath songs and covers by special guests, arranged in concert order. For viewers following the guest performances, that separate disc deserves a closer look. The 146-minute film runtime is not a track list for the bonus programme.
The larger set also includes two CDs, three vinyl records, a 72-page hardback book and memorabilia. Its audio description lists the Ozzy and Sabbath sets alongside nine covers. Check the track list for the song you want rather than assuming that the audio discs duplicate the entire bonus video programme.
A mixed order can wait until April
Both official product pages say other items bought in the same order will be held until the release ships, with no separate shipping. That matters if you put a December release and the April Deluxe box in one basket.
On the store's stated terms, the later item could determine when that order leaves. If receiving a December edition on its own schedule matters, check the checkout arrangements before combining it with the Deluxe preorder. Separate orders may have separate delivery costs; the product descriptions do not promise a free split shipment.
Pick the performance before the packaging
For the main Ozzy and Sabbath film and soundtrack, start with the standard package's contents. For the additional 35-song concert disc and the expanded physical collection, read the Deluxe track list and accept its later date.
